Cutting Saw Blades
Need some metal cutting saw blades?
When using a circular saw, the time will come when you need
to replace the blade, you do want to ensure that you get the
best quality blade that will cut through metal easily
without too many sparks flying. Now there are various
manufacturers that you can look to to produce a quality
blade, Milwaukee, Hitachi and Makita to name a
few.
Some people like to even skimp on the
actual device but pay top dollar for high quality metal
cutting saw blades, that is how important getting a good one
is. Although I wouldn’t recommend you do that, here
are a few different metal cutting saw blades to consider
picking up:
1. Milwaukee 48-40-45 15 8”
42 Tooth Ferrous & Non-Ferrous Metal Cutting Saw Blade
w/ 5/8” Arbor
This blade is specifically designed to cut
through ferrous materials that are 3/32” and thicker, this
includes pipe, angle iron, steel studs and conduit.
This blade also has vibration damping which works to keep
the heat down as well as reduce sparks and noise so that you
get smoother cuts without the burr.
If you do get this it is suggested you use
it with the Milwaukee Dry Cut Saw 6370-20. This will
offer you some clean cuts and at the end of it a blade which
is cool to the touch after 20 seconds. Metal can be
cut almost spark free with this blade, do make sure you wear
the proper protective eye gear though.
One final note, when cutting, do not push
the blade too hard through the metal, it should glide
through gently, pushing too hard can lead to a dangerous
situation.
The blades hold up well and will help you
cut through a lot of metal, they retail at $47.70 on Amazon
and are rated 5/5 stars by 4 customer reviews.
2. Hitachi 974642N 10” 72
Tooth TCG Non-Ferrous Metal and Plastic Cutting Miter Saw
Blade w/ 5/8” Arbor
Here’s a blade that is 2” bigger and comes
with 30 more teeth on it, made by Hitachi. The teeth
are designed from tungsten carbide and are useful for
cutting through brass, aluminum, copper and other light
metals.
It’s great for cutting aluminum products
as well as plastics with minimal effort. It holds up
to frequent use and it only costs $35.42, it’s a great
deal. This one here is also rated 5/5 on Amazon by 4
customers
3. Makita A-90532 12” 60
Teeth Dry Ferrous Metal Cutting Saw Blade w/ 1”
Arbor
This one is another 2” on the Hitachi
blade, but sports 60 teeth total with 1” arbor. This
is great for aluminum, it cuts straight and clean without
any burs, this blade also doesn’t get smaller with use like
abrasive blades do. As long as you cut soft metals and
not stainless, spring or hardened steel, it will serve you
well.
This was rated 5/5 by 3 customers on
Amazon.
Now there are many other metal cutting saw
blades out there to choose from, but hopefully this gives
you an idea of what is out there. When looking for
metal cutting saw blades do look around more to ensure you
get the right one for your needs.
